Listen to RadioACTive weeknights at 6pm

Listen to RadioACTive weeknights at 6pm

Plug into your community weeknights at 6 to hear from grassroots activists, community builders, punk rock farmers, and DIY makers and musicians. Does that sound like you or somebody you know? Tell us all about it in an email, radioactive@krcl.org. To listen to past shows, click here. Next time on RadioACTive:

Monday, April 15-17: A community storytelling takeover, featuring Stories From the Other Side. For four nights this week, we bring together rising journalists from the University of Utah with graduates of The Other Side Academy (TOSA), a partnership with Amplify Utah and KRCL. Based in Salt Lake City, TOSA helps folks who they say were criminals, homeless, and substance abusers to rebuild their lives and reconnect to the community. For some, it’s the most difficult thing they’ve done.

Tuesday, April 16: Stories From the Other Side Takeover continues. Tonight, music has become an impactful and transformative experience for many people in recovery. Clay Josewski is a former addict who aims to spread his message of lifestyle-change through “Sober Hip-Hop,” under the name Zevskee.

Wednesday, April 17: Recovery coach Tiffany Blair from The Other Side Academy reflects on the mentors that shaped her journey from addiction to inspiration. From facing incarceration to finding purpose and community at TOSA, Blair's story is a testament to the life-changing impact of positive role models. Tune in to hear firsthand how we all have the potential to free others from destructive patterns.

Thursday, April 18: Diego Cortez shares his tattoo journey—from gangs to his leadership role at The Other Side Academy—as he navigates life experiences through the ink. Listen as Cortez sits for a new tattoo appointment and again for a removal appointment as he explores the meaningful aspects his ink has carried throughout his life.

Friday, April 19: Punk Rock Farmer Friday on RadioACTive gets ready for Earth and Arbor Days with local tree experts Charlie Perington from Red Butte Garden and Amy May of Tree Utah. Plus, Skywatcher Leo T, and homegrown music.
