Alan Weisman (The World Without Us) returns to RadioActive to discuss his new book, Countdown: Our Last, Best Hope for a Future on Earth.  Weisman re-tells a time in Utah history when doctors counseled women to space their children to preserve their bodies.  What good is a child without a mother?  Now Weisman takes that wise counsel and applies it to Mother Earth.  Can we space our population in a sustainable manner and create a healthy planet for everyone?

Nick Burns welcomes both Samuelsen and producer/director Jerry Rapier to discuss two of the new plays to be staged in their up-coming season.  Nothing Personal explores the persecution and imprisonment of Susan McDougal who refused to testify before Kenneth Starr’s grand jury, and Clearing Bombs which explores the relationship of dueling economists Friedrich Hayek and John Maynard Keynes.
