It’s been said that Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys broke down and cried when he heard this record, he was so devastated it wasn’t his own creation. (Although Paul McCartney has said, in turn, that the orchestral arrangements on Pet Sounds were an inspiration.)

Thank you to everyone that took our recent programming survey. We appreciate and value your feedback.

It has been a little more than a year since KRCL began broadcasting the nationally syndicated program, World Cafe. The show launched with mixed reviews and although many KRCL listeners love the program, most feel that we should use that time for more locally-curated music programming.

Effective Monday, May 13th, KRCL will no longer air the syndicated program, World Cafe. Fans of the show can still stream it online and can find a link to the show here.

Your feedback and continued support is vital to 90.9fm KRCL!

KRCL is proud to partner with our friends at the University Graywhale for activities celebrating this year’s Record Store Day. 6 years ago, Record Store Day was conceived as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding independently owned record stores.

This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day and hundreds of artists in the United States and in various countries across the globe make special appearances and performances. Festivities include performances, cook-outs, body painting, meet & greets with artists, parades, djs spinning records and on and on.

KRCL will be getting in on the fun starting at 8 am on April 20th. Stay tuned for more exciting details!

Click here for the list of special Record Store Day releases.

As KRCL’s Spring 2013 Radiothon comes to a close we want to share our gratitude for the kindness and support we’ve experienced over the last ten days.
Thank you to all the donors, volunteers, board members, on-air hosts, meal suppliers, phone-answerers, and anyone and everyone who gave of themselves for the drive. With your help we were able to raise important funds that keep KRCL on the air, doing what we do best. Perhaps, what we enjoyed most were all the outpourings of love and appreciation we heard from listeners – we promise we’ll continue to work our hardest to protect this community treasure we all care for.

A big Congratulations to Mike Rugaber, the winner of the The Great KRCL Flyaway to see Willie Nelson in Austin! We hope you have an incredible time, Mike!

And a great big Thanks again to our friends at Nate Wade Subaru for sponsoring the trip.
