Dear Cache Valley listeners,
Thanks for listening to and supporting KRCL. Unfortunately, the signal for KZCL at 90.5, which has broadcast KRCL programs on and off over the last few years, will not be broadcasting much longer.
The transmitter in Logan has never worked to its fullest potential. As you are probably aware, KRCL’s signal in the area was never consistent. Our engineers made numerous repairs, upgrades and replaced broken parts through the years. Because of the ineffectual transmission, KRCL was going to lose its FCC license for the signal.
In a perfect world, KRCL should have rebuilt the transmitter. In reality, KRCL, as an independently operated community organization with a limited budget, just did not have the funds to rebuild. With much thoughtful debate, the Board of Trustees agreed that the best option was to sell the signal.
From the Board of Trustees and the KRCL staff, please let us assure you that this decision was not made lightly. All of us wanted the transmitter in Logan to be a success.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We can be reached at comments@krcl.org.
Sincerely,
The Board of Trustees of KRCL
Would you like to attend a KRCL Board of Trustees Meeting?
KRCL board meetings are open to the public. The meetings are hosted regularly on the last Wednesday of each month, with the exception of the November and December meetings, which are consolidated into one meeting. This meeting is scheduled on the Wednesday closest to KRCL’s December 3rd birthday as possible.
Thanks!
