Hop Bombshells & Barley’s Angels : Women’s Homebrew Clubs

The rise in the DIY and craft beer movements has brought more women into the fold of homebrewing. And because the men that they brew with can take over sometimes, groups of local homebrewing and beer-loving women have formed their own clubs – to build community and work on their craft.

With new bike lanes, Trax lines, and streetcars changing the way that transportation works in Salt Lake City, some of our community’s youngest residents are voicing their input on the ongoing design of the city. The Utah chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar, a professional organization for engineers, urban planners, and others,  held a summit for young girls interested in math and science to learn about the mechanics of transportation design and try their hand at long term planning.

People Helping People

KRCL is proud to partner with People Helping People for our 2013 Summer Community Drive. People Helping People is an organization focused on ending poverty for women and their children, by training low-income women to earn a living wage. But the organization does much more than a standard employment program, PHP works with their clients to reshape the way they see the world and themselves, and their graduates come out of the program empowered to find the career that is right for them
