Tyler Bastian is the director and founder of Roots, Utah’s first farm-based charter high school, which will seat its first students in August. Located on the border of West Valley and South Salt Lake cities, Roots will offer reading, writing and arithmetic, plus what Bastian hopes will be the character building experience of learning on a working farm.
