Tuesday, July 28: Roundtable Tuesday with Risshan Leak counts down the days to Utah Music Month, a celebration of homegrown music. RadioACTive gets a preview of 801 Day with Ali Vallarta of City Cast Salt Lake and Felicia Baca, director of the Salt Lake Arts Council, which will unveil the Whale's new tail as part of Saturday's party on the Milk Block. Plus, grassroots groups and nonprofits issue calls for supplies for nomads and students.

Call for Support: Nomad Alliance

DJ Jewelz of Nomad Alliance visits the show to issue a call for supplies for its monthly outreach event at the Downtown Salt Lake City Public Library. Joining them from 3-6 PM this Sunday will be Showers of Hope - Utah, Healing Horses Ranch, Utah Harm Reduction Coalition, and more. Some supplies needed include:

  • clothing
  • blankets
  • hand sanitizer
  • hygiene supplies

Call for Support: Back-to-School Drives

Utah has more than 650,000 public school students headed back to class starting as early as Aug. 12. According to the National Education Association (NEA), costs for basic educational supplies increased by an average of 7.3 percent from the 2024-25 school year to 2025-26, placing an additional financial burden on families and teachers. The NEA also estimates that teachers spend an average of $500-$900 of their own money on supplies for their students.
