Ballet West's Choreographic Festival VI

Ballet West’s sixth Choreographic Festival is bringing several international guest companies to the stage with new choreography and diverse Asian voices. A world premiere creation for Ballet West by the emerging choreographers Zhongjing Fang and Caili Quan, alongside new works by several visiting organizations for a memorable program of dance in the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. Once again, audiences will see dancers and choreographers exploring their art form in intriguing and cutting-edge new creations. Family Festival and Disability Resource Fair

This is a fun free event put on by the Utah Parent Center for families who have children, youth, and adults with disabilities to come and enjoy time out in the community together. The highlights of this event is a self-advocate talent show followed by an all abilities dance party! There will also be roller skating/adaptive skating, games and giveaways, and community resources. SLAM Music Festival

The SLAM Music Festival is now accepting young Utah music artists under 21 performance applications for all genres now through July 15, 2024. Winners announced on August 15 for the September 7, 2024 festival in downtown Salt Lake City.



Book Signing with author Jonathan Aubrey - Am I Different - for National Disability Independence Day

Johnathan Aubrey and his wife love being involved with helping children. They are licensed foster care providers. Johnathan is no stranger to obstacles and challenges. Not only was he born with cerebral palsy, he was also in Resource and Special Ed in elementary school. Despite these and other challenges, Johnathan attended Weber State University and was able to graduate with a dual bachelor's degree in economics and English in four years. He has worked as a real estate agent in Utah since 2008, but gets the most joy reading his book "Am I Different?" and sharing a message of winning despite all obstacles at school assemblies and other functions. Jonathan will be telling his story, answering questions for both grown-ups and kids, and signing copies of his picture book, Am I Different, at The Printed Garden from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on National Disability Independence Day, July 26th - the day that commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26th, 1990. This event is free and open to the public. There might even be cookies!
