RadioActive is KRCL's independent community affairs show for the local and global community builder.

Monday, July 25: A special Pioneer Day edition of RadioActive, featuring stories from that lovingly competitive storytelling phenomenon known as The Bee. Tune in for stories by and for Utahns, curated by The Bee's Giuliana Serena and featuring storytellers Erika Munson of Mormons Building Bridges, biologist Jaimi Butler of the Great Salt Lake Institute, dirty job expert Dan Merkeley, Joan Nabors of Nubian Storytellers, and big whoops storyteller Erin Baxter.

Tuesday, July 26: Lara Jones is joined by Create Reel Change's Brian Higgins to showcase the abundant creativity in our state. Featuring: filmmaker David Skrout, winner of this year's 48-Hour Film Project; comedian Amerah Ames; and musician Ben Brinton. Plus, Matt Canham of The Salt Lake Tribune will call in from the Democratic National Convention.

Wednesday, July 27: Lara Jones and Nick Burns talk politics with Young Democrats of Utah and Morgan Lyon Cotti of the Hinckley Institute at the University of Utah. Plus, Matt Canham of The Salt Lake Tribune will call in from the Democratic National Convention.

Thursday, July 28: Lara Jones and Billy Palmer discuss racial disparities among elected office holders in Utah. Guests: Sen. Luz Escamilla (D, Salt Lake County), Minority Assistant Whip, Utah State Senate; Rep. Sandra Hollins (D, SLC); Rep. Angela Romero (D, SLC). Plus, Matt Canham of The Salt Lake Tribune will call in from the Democratic National Convention.

Friday, July 29: Lara Jones and Aldine, KRCL’s Punk Rock Farmer, offer a mix of arts, culture and urban farming each Friday night. Guests: The Bug Lady, aka Christy Bills, on the 4th Annual Antelope Island Spiderfest; Kapi and Yazmine from Anarchy Girls Cospace; Kamaile Tripp and Susi Feltch-Malohifo'ou, hosts of The Island Wave, talk about the 4th annual Utah Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Live music: TBD.

If you have an idea -- guest, topic, something new -- for RadioActive, send an email to radioactive@krcl.org or post it to our new Facebook page.
