Plug into your community weeknights at 6 to hear from grassroots activists, community builders, punk rock farmers and DIY creatives. Does that sound like you or somebody you know? Tell us all about it in an email, radioactive@krcl.org. To listen to past shows, click here. Coming up this week:

Monday, May 29: RadioACTive gets a preview of the 46th annual Utah Asian Festival, the longest-running continuous event of its kind this side of the Mississippi. Better Days on Alice Kasai, an advocate for Japanese-Americans’ rights and for international peace. Plus, Rocky Mountain Community Radio Regional Roundup features writers of the region.

Tuesday, May 30: Pride 2023 with Utah Pride Center’s Jonathan Foulk, Ted Nicholls (perhaps better known as drag performer and Salt Lake City Showgirl Gia Bianca Stephens) and Rosa Bandeirinha. Plus, Sierra Club youth climate activists on recent wins for clean energy and climate in Utah schools.

Wednesday, May 31: Eric Peterson of The Utah Investigative Journalism Project on his research into the Utah Inland Port. Plus, call for public art ideas in the Fairpark neighborhood.

Thursday, June 1: Another Talanoa Takeover, featuring Leka Heimuli from SLCC's Gender and Sexuality Student Resource Center. Plus, the significance of leis and graduation controversies.

Friday, June 2: True tales from the agrihood with KRCL’s Punk Rock Farmer. Plus, fresh and homegrown music from Hear Utah Music and a live performance by Katie Van Sleen.
