8th Annual Utah Blues Fest - Day 1

The Utah Blues Society presents its biggest fundraiser of the year, the 8th Annual Utah Blues Fest - Day 1. Featured national performers kick off at 5 pm with LARRY MCCRAY, followed by ANNIKA CHAMBERS & PAUL DESLAURIERS and ending with TAB BENOIT. After the Fest, at 10 pm, bay area's Mitch Woods brings his world renowned "Club 88" to the host hotel's piano bar (the Marriott) where the musicians will sit in for late night jamming.

HARRELL, SUE FOLEY and ending with SOUTHERN AVENUE. There will also be free workshops – Tony Holiday’s Harmonica Workshop and Sue Foley’s nationally respected “One Guitar Woman”!

What is Yoga Nidra? An introduction to Yoga Nidra with Elizabeth Jensen

Join Elizabeth Jensen as she teaches the fundamentals of Yoga Nidra and guides us through the practices and a meditation. What is Yoga Nidra? Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation. This particular style of meditation allows you to process emotions in a healthy way, to experience your life to the fullest, and to rewire your brain and life to be present and find peace in the here and now. During this evening, we will learn about the benefits of Yoga Nidra, including the ten stages and how to use them in practice and everyday living, and conclude in a short guided Yoga Nidra meditation. Please bring pen and paper if you wish to take notes or explore the concepts that will be given. Chairs will be provided but feel free to bring a cushion if you’d prefer for the meditation portion of the evening. About Elizabeth Jensen: Elizabeth Jensen completed her first Yoga Nidra training in 2015 and her second training in 2016 through the Integrative Restoration Institute (iRest). Elizabeth has been teaching Yoga Nidra classes since 2015. Elizabeth began her practice and studies when she was a caregiver for her mother to help her process and heal. Elizabeth is also an asana teacher (yoga), a sound healer, and an energy healer/Reiki Master. Craft Workshop: Creative Drawing For Relaxation

For many people, drawing can be a point of frustration. Oftentimes we might feel stuck when our creations do not match our desired reality. This class is focused on simple techniques to suspend judgement of your own creations in order to create joyfully. Drawing is a healthy exercise which is helpful for organizing ideas, expressing emotions and feelings, and is useful as a way to explore our potential. This is a free community event open to all.
