Tonight's homegrown music: Will Baxter Band. Music feeds the Soul. Funk. Blues.

Will Baxter is a SLC-based singer, songwriter, and musician whose influences include soul, folk, Americana, and vintage rhythm and blues. Throughout his career, Baxter has been a prolific live performer, playing a wide range of music and sharing the stage with Z.Z. Top, Twiddle, The Wailers, and many more.

Aldine's Urban Farm Report: Ideas for Planting Season

Aldine, KRCL's Punk Rock Farmer, is back from 2 weeks on the road, meeting with fellow growers and swapping seeds from UT to CA. Red Acre Center's Symbria and Sara Patterson and Chef Shon Foster join us to share tales of the road and talk about next week's Day on the Hill.

  • Feb. 4: Red Acre Center for Food & Agriculture Day on the Hill | 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. at the Utah State Capitol, 350 N State St, SLC. Join RAC in sharing the message with Utah Legislators that our food matters, local food economies are vital, and small local farms and farmers are essential!

    8:30 AM - 10:30 AM: Copper Room in the Senate Building. Everyone is welcome! Check-In, Pastries & Politics, Red Acre Center Legislative Priorities. Get an update on what's happening that affects agriculture and our local food economy.

    10:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Senate & House floor. ​Watch the legislature in session from the gallery or ask your Representative or Senator if you can sit on the chamber floor with them​​.

    10:45 AM - 11:30 AM in the Rotunda. Vendors only. Are you a farmer, business, or organization in the food or farming world, and want to have an information table in the Rotunda during lunch? ​Set up a display table for legislators to meet you, see, visit, and learn about what is happening in the movement to build local food systems. ​To apply, click here

    11:30 AM: Photo outside on the steps. We will be taking a photo outside the south doors of the Rotunda and on the main steps of the Capitol; we need you to be there! Thanks to the Downtown SLC Farmers Market, which will have its vintage farm truck there for the photo op.

    12:00 PM - 1:30 PM in the Rotunda. Lunch with legislators & information tables. Registration required. Members of Red Acre Center eat free. Register for lunch here

    1:30 - 3:00 PM: The Board Room in the Capitol Building. Everyone is welcome. Discussion with invited legislators and speakers.
