Becky Youkstetter and Erik Roan of Guadalupe School. Established in 1966 originally as an English-as-a-Second-Language Program, Guadalupe now offers In-Home programs for parents and new-born children; the Toddler Transitions Program for children aged 2 - 3 years; the Preschool Program to help students transition from home to the classroom; the Charter School Program for kindergarten through 5th grade; and the Adult Education Program with ESL and U.S citizenship classes, childcare, limited transportation, and more.

  • May 5: Guadalupe School’s Fiesta for the Future, 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Promontory Hall at Utah State Fair Park, 155 N. 1000 W., SLC. "Join us for a fiesta to remember as we celebrate our students' success and support their future. Live Mariachi Music. Folklórico Dancing by Guadalupe School Students. Delicious Latin-Inspired Cuisine and Live & Silent Auctions. All at our Cinco de Mayo Gala as we raise funds to support Guadalupe School's students and families. Bert Holland and Madelaine Lamah of the AI International Film Festival, which brings people together from around the world to share their visions of how Artificial Intelligence might affect our lives.  

  • May 11-14: AI International Film Festival, various locations and times. "The premier event celebrating the best and brightest filmmakers from around the world, with all films focusing on the profound societal effects of GPT-4 & Artificial Intelligence or films produced using AI technology. Featuring 40 selected films from 22 countries, the festival offers a unique platform for filmmakers to explore AI-related topics and push creative boundaries. Attendees can expect a captivating array of films, including a ChatGPT-written short with deep-fake actors, a spine-chilling AI horror flick about an AI assistant gone wrong, an eye-opening documentary on AI in the justice system, and an experimental film exploring human-humanoid romance, among others. In-person attendees can also join Live Audience Discussions with international directors, actors, and crew, fostering engaging conversations on the impact of AI on society and the film industry." Liz Pitts of the Utah Lgbtq+ Chamber of Commerce and Nick Arteaga and Ed Turner of . SafeZone creates safer spaces for LGBTQ+ community members through education and advocacy and by providing training and resources to Utah businesses

  • May 12: Queer Food FEASTival 2023, 5:30-9:00 p.m. at Mountain West Hard Cider, 425 N. 400 W., SLC. Event by Utah Lgbtq+ Chamber of Commerce and Mountain West Hard Cider: "In partnership with local LGBTQ and ally-owned and operated restaurants, breweries, and providers of spirits, the Utah LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present the 2023 Queer Food FEASTival—a springtime celebration of community and abundance! The focus of the FEAST will not only be the food, but also the nourishment we provide each other through gathering and breaking bread together—a taste of Queer Salt Lake!
