  • Fire Sense: Fire sense is common sense. The trick is just using it. You already know heat or sparks plus dry grass equals a whole lot of trouble, so the next time you’re camping or shooting or otherwise enjoying the great outdoors in this great state of ours, use your brain before things get too hot to handle. Exercise your fire sense to prevent roughly 70% of Utah wildfires.

  • UtahFireInfo.gov: Find current active fires and fuels work, statewide fire restrictions, and more.

Red Acre Center's Symbria Patterson with a report on her trip to D.C. for a Congressional hearing on The PRIME Act. Currently, it sits in the U.S. House and needs sponsors in the U.S. Senate.

 What's Fresh at the Downtown SLC Farmers Market, featuring Fine Tilth Farm and Borski Farms.

  • Downtown SLC Farmers Market, every Saturday through Oct. 21, 8a-1p at Pioneer Park, 350 W. 300 S., SLC. The Downtown Farmers Market exists to strengthen and support small local farms and businesses as they bring their products directly to the public. Farmers and producers offer the freshest local fruits and vegetables as well as a wide variety of grass-fed meats, eggs, dairy, honey, and flora, along with the region's best locally made sauces, spreads, baked goods, and culinary accoutrements. 

  • The Downtown Farmers Market accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payments using a wooden token program. The Market’s goal, with the vendors as partners, is to offer opportunities for families who receive food stamp benefits to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and other eligible products at the Market. Participants can receive up to $30 worth of green tokens per day in addition to the wooden tokens. Green tokens can be used to purchase fruits and vegetables. Wooden tokens can be used to to purchase any eligible food item. See Double Up Food Bucks for more information. SNAP recipients purchase tokens, valued at $1 each at a designated booth near the center of 300 W.
