October is Youth Justice Action Month - YJAM. RadioACTive talked about it as part of a panel discussion on Who’s Helping Kids in Utah Courts? A new report from Voices for Utah Children, the only statewide, multi-issue child advocacy organization that speaks out on behalf of children. Panelists included:

  • Martín Muñoz, KIDS COUNT Data Analyst at Voices for Utah Children

  • Anna Thomas, Senior Policy Analyst at Voices for Utah Children 

  • Alyssha Dairsow, Coordinator of Utah’s Racial and Ethnic Disparities (RED) Advisory Committee 

  • Liliana Bolaños, who participated as a Court Observer for the report

  • Estefania De Lucas, who participated as a Court Observer for the report

  • Oct. 20: YJAM And Yet We Rise, 3:30 p.m. online. Event by Utah Board of Juvenile Justice & Community Partners: "In recognition of YJAM, the Utah Board of Juvenile Justice and partners are hosting a free, public, virtual event. And Yet We Rise will elevate the voices of young people, including those who have experience in the juvenile justice system, through a variety of formats interwoven into an online showcase.
