Author Steve Phillips on his latest book, How We Win the Civil War -- Securing a Multiracial Democracy and Ending White Supremacy for Good

  • Phillips charts the way forward for progressives and people of color to lead the way to end this civil war, arguing that Democrats, in particular, must recognize the urgency of the moment we’re in as well as the nature of the fight we’re in—a contest between democracy and white supremacy left unresolved after the original Civil War.

  • He also shines a light on the people, places, and organizations that have recently defeated the modern-day Confederates and made meaningful progress toward making America a multiracial, multicultural democracy.
