Best of RadioACTive's #RoundtableTuesday: How does gratitude show up during a pandemic, with Red Barn Farms, VOA-Utah, Fit to Recover, Spice Kitchen-to-Go and IRC-SLC's Breaking Bread initiative. Plus, #3QuickPicks on gratitude, Utah Film Center, and COVID Diaries: Incarceration.

From Dec. 28-Jan. 1, the RadioACTive Team closes out the year by sharing some of their favorite episodes. Thank you for all of your support. Tonight's show originally aired November 17, 2020. See you in 2021! Tonight's lineup:

#3QuickPicks with Azra Basic, adult services librarian at the Marmalade Branch, Salt Lake City Public Library. Check out (literally) Basic's picks on gratitude:

  1. Gratitude, Oliver Sacks. "This book consists of four essays written in the two years before the author's death. It chronicles the author’s thoughts, wishes, regrets, and, above all, feelings of love, happiness, and gratitude even as he is faced with the cancer that ended his life. The Gratitude is short enough to be read in one sitting—but it’s huge in heart and it will stay with you forever."

  2. The Intouchables, Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano. "This French uplifting comedy about friendship, trust, and human possibility. Based on a true story of friendship between a handicapped millionaire and his ex-con caretaker, The Intouchables depicts an unlikely friendship rooted in honesty and humor between two individuals who on the surface, would seem to have nothing in common."

  3. Apple Cake: A Gratitude, Dawn Casey. "In this simple rhyming story, a child says thank you for the gifts nature provides, from hazelnuts in the hedge to apples from the tree, eggs from the hens to milk from the cow. Eventually, the family has enough ingredients to make something special … a delicious apple cake! – the perfect read for Thanksgiving."

COVID Diaries #2: Incarceration. This special 10-part series explores the effects of COVID and quarantine on different communities within Utah. As the correspondent for this special project, Community Co-Host Tamrika Khvtisiashvili has been gathering first-person narratives and interviews about life during the coronavirus pandemic.
