Dr. Randall Irmis on the latest dinosaur discovery in Utah. Irmis is the Chief Curator and Curator of Paleontology at the Natural History Museum of Utah, as well as Associate Professor Geology and Geophysics, University of Utah.

  • Jan. 25-26: DinoFest 2020: The Extinction of Dinosaurs at Natural History Museum of UtahFestivalgoers will have rare access to the Paleo Fossil Prep Lab and Paleo Collections areas, as well as the Museum’s 50th anniversary special exhibit, Nature All Around Us. Gallery educators will roam the Past World’s Gallery to answer questions and give visitors the opportunity to see and touch real dinosaur bones and casts. Special activities for kids will also be featured, including a chance to hop into Dino-themed photo ops, spring into Dino yoga or enjoy a host of hands-on Dino-themed activities designed for the whole family. DinoFest is included with regular admission and free for Museum Members and University of Utah faculty, staff, and students. Click here to save $2 per ticket.

  • Dale Thurber of Delectation of Tomatoes. Thurber has nearly 3,000 varieties of heirloom seeds from all around the world, including hundreds of peppers, melons, squash, beans, and more.
  • Melanie Schertz of the 9th West Farmers Market, which hosts its annual People's Market Annual Seed Swap/Sale Saturday, Feb. 1, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at NeighborWorks Salt Lake, 625 W. Girard Street, SLC. Meet and swap seeds with gardening groups, including Wasatch Community Gardens, Joseph Lofthouse, Utah Beekeepers Association, Delectation of Tomatoes, and more.
