Balancing public health, justice and civil rights with Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill. #PandemicalPoetry with Ken Sanders and Alex Caldiero. COVID-19 supplies for the Navajo Nation. #NursesWeek with Night Train's Michelle Tanner. #QuarantineCocktails with City Weekly and Tin Angel Cafe.

Tonight’s lineup:

#QuarantineCocktails Ep 21:

  • John Saltas of Salt Lake City Weekly, which has been showcasing the stories of local businesses and their resilience in the face of COVID-19.

  • Kestrel Liedtke of Tin Angel Cafe and her bar manager, Ray Wall, who mixed a Sazerac. Use the media player below to hear Ray share the history of what some call “America’s First Cocktail.”

Thank-a-Nurse: Not only is it Nurses Appreciation Week, but 2020 has been dubbed The Year of the Nurse. RadioACTive spoke with KRCL’s own Michelle Tanner. She is the host of Night Train Monday nights at 10:30, the creator of OFOAM - Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music, and she has been a Pediatric RN for 40 years — the last 16 with Life Flight.

Call to Action: Supplies are needed to help the Navajo Nation as it battles COVID-19. RadioACTive spoke with Tara Bennally and TJ Ellerbeck of the Rural Utah Project and Gavin Noyes of Utah Diné Bikéyah (UDB), just a few of several groups working together to rally and deliver resources to tribal governments and health clinics in Utah.

  • While Bennally is taking a load of supplies to San Juan County tomorrow, you are invited to drop donations at the offices of UDB for future runs. Call (385) 202-4954 to make arrangements. To reach Bennally, call (435) 485-0268.

Sim Gill, Salt Lake County District Attorney, on public health, justice and civil liberties. He’s still holding "Citizens Meetings," just remotely. Click here for more information.

#PandemicalPoetry with Ken Sanders and Alex Caldiero. Why? Because “Poetry Is Wanted Here.” Get comfy in your favorite easy chair and be soothed and disturbed by the words they offer up for our trying times. Maybe knock back a Sazerac or two while you’re at it.
