Women of the World Graduates, #MeToo Mad

Hosted by Lara Jones and Dr. Dave, tonight's show featured:

  • Samira Harnish, founder and executive director of Women of the World, a non-profit that provides hope, support, supplies, education, and positivity to hundreds of women refugees and their families. WoW graduates Apiel Kuot of Kenya and Entisar al-Qssy of Iraq shared their stories.

    • Saturday, Dec. 9: Women of the World 7th Annual Celebration for women who achieved their dream careers, reached their goals, and became self-reliant with a community party in the south building of the Salt Lake County Government Complex, 2001 S. State St., SLC, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Free and open to the public, there will be ethnic music and food. 
  • #MeToo Mad, with Kirstin Maanum of the UoU's Women's Enrollment Initiative and Celina Milner, a women's advocate and political campaign consultant. 

    • The Women’s Enrollment Initiative is designed to recruit, retain, and graduate women through a network of support that provides opportunities and creates innovative partnerships that positively impact the full range of experiences for women as they pursue their educational and professional goals.
