A Thanksgiving Special With Voices From From Project Homeless Connect

Tonight's show is a Thanksgiving Day special. Last Year we brought stories from the first Project Homeless Connect. An event where local services of many kinds all come together to the Salt Palace Convention Center for a day of hope for those experiencing homelessness. It’s sort of a one stop shop for some  one that may need medical attention, job referrals, a hair cut and to put in applications for assistance and so much more. RadioActive returned to this years PHC and we share stories with you of people directly affected by affordability of housing and essential needs.
We hear from:
  • Mike Akerlow who was the former Director Of Housing and Neighborhood Development for Salt Lake City and brought PHC to Salt Lake City while there. He is now the CEO of the and still the lead in organizing the annual event.
  • Homeless and Recovery Advocate and Organizer of PHC Rachel Santizo.
  • Gregory Amobi and his Client Advocate Tammy
  • Aaron Brown and Damien Trujillo
  • Jenn and Ben
  • Lisa Bolen
  • Anita Michelle Finster
Got a story you'd like to share on the show? Record a voice memo on your smart phone, then email it to radioactive@krcl.org. Keep it under 3 minutes and be sure to include a name and phone number in the body of the message.
RadioACTive is a production of Listeners' Community Radio of Utah. Tonight's team included:
