Utah Asian Pacific Islander Community Awards with Ivoni Nash, host of Tala Koula (Sunday nights at 10:00 p.m. on KRCL) and Lola Akeripa, past-president of OCA Asian Pacific Islander American Advocates: Utah Chapter. This year's honorees include The Ohana Association at Weber State, Ratsamy Bing Vilaiphanh, Feagaiga O Ali'i, Nepalese Association of Utah, West Valley City Councilmember Jacob Fitisemanu Jr., and S. Floyd Mori. 

Andrea Himoff and Carrie Butler of Action Utah, the non-partisan community advocacy org that is about to celebrate its third anniversary. 

  • Nov. 7: Celebration of Advocacy: AU's 3rd Birthday Party, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at 15th Street Gallery, 1519 S. 1500 E., SLC. A celebration of three years of advocacy successes and community mobilization to sway votes, change the conversation and impact policy on the issues you care about most. Click here for tickets, which include entrance to the event, merriment, appetizers, libations and the opportunity to help empower Utahns at the 2020 State Legislative Session and beyond.

  • Nov. 20: Action Utah Tour & Talk: Spotlight on Suicide Prevention, 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the Utah State Capitol, in the Seagull Room in the Senate (East) Building next to the parking lot. Allow time for parking. Join Action Utah leaders and members on Capitol Hill during Interim Session on November 20th to find out what's happening with suicide prevention in Utah. Plus, get a tour of the Capitol Campus during the Interim Session. Bring a bag lunch. This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Click here to RSVP
