Loudies: Beyond the Beat

A collaboration with Spy Hop Productions, Loud & Clear airs every Saturday night on KRCL from 9-10 PM. It is Utah's only youth-produced radio program, whose director is Rude Awakening's Ricky Vigil.

Beyond the Beat is a project that DJs in Loud and Clear work on for several months in the program. While researching these projects, students consider the historical, social, political, and creative context of the music that they choose to highlight. Tonight, Loud & Clear DJs Blue and f4t4l_4c3 share stories about some of their favorite artists and songs.

RAPop! talks with Marcie Young Cancio, UoU Prof and RHOSLC fan, and Scott Black, Director of the Tanner Humanities Center, which is throwing a ... party? Actually, it's a day-long symposium — both campy and analytical — about the reality TV hit featuring the personal and professional lives of wealthy women in Utah.
