RadioACTive has suggestions, from skateboarding, coffee and chess club, and Esports and gaming to creative writing, landscape design, and wine pairing tutorials.

Every Monday in May, RadioACTive brings you cool people, places and things to get your summer started. Check them out and get plugged into your community!

Play chess, drink coffee: Benny Mendoza of Salt Lake City Coffee and Chess can be found every Sunday from 9a-1p at Loki Coffee, 25 E. 900 S., SLC. To find a chess club near you, visit utahchess.com/clubs.

Learn to shred: Molly and Jack Parker of Spock's Skate Camp's Sisterhood of Shred, an all-girls skateboard empowerment and enrichment program at West Valley Skate Park, every other Sunday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Skaters of all abilities are welcome; riders must be 6 or older and have proper helmets & safety gear. Mother/daughter teams are encouraged!

Learn gaming: Mason Johson, a varsity Overwatch player for Utah Esports, and Professor Greg Bayles, a graduate of the games program at the U who has taught for many years at the Utah Division of Games—ranked #1 and #2 worldwide in 2024 Princeton Review.
