Oct. 18: Our Past is Present at UMFA | 10-7 PM @ Utah Museum of Fine Arts. It’s all about the grand opening of their new Mexican, Central, and South American galleries. Live music, dance performances, art-making, workshops, and of course, food! For a fun way to enjoy art and culture, join the celebration this weekend.
Oct. 18: Taste of Korea at International Youth Fellowship in Murray | 11 AM - 4 PM. This one’s free to get into, and they’ve got all kinds of fun stuff going on: traditional games, performances, and hands-on activities for everyone. Plus, you can grab some amazing Korean street food, and all the proceeds go toward supporting IYF programs.
Oct. 18: The Holy War - The big Utah Utes vs. BYU football game is happening this Saturday! Whether you’re cheering from the stadium, watching with friends, or supporting local bars or restaurants featuring the game, it’s always one of the biggest weekends of the year for Utah sports fans, and everyone should tune in—and Go Utes!
Oct. 19: Paint Night with Grace | 2 PM @ Boomerangs Down Under Bar in Millcreek. If you’re feeling a little artsy, there’s Paint Night with Grace happening at Boomerang’s Down Under Bar in Millcreek. The theme is Boo-tiful Ghost, perfect for the spooky season! All supplies are included, and no experience is needed. Drinks are available for purchase, too, so grab a friend, have a drink, and get creative!
The Salt Lake Tribune has headed south, opening its Southern Utah Tribune arm. The teams chats wtih Colten Lochhead, editor of The Trib's Utah Lands Editor, and Lexy Borgono, Editor-in-Chief of Sun News, Utah Tech University's student newspaper. The duo paint a picture of local journalism that is set to grow.
Karina Lugo-Villalba, Wasatch Community Gardens Volunteer Program Director, is putting gardens and new programs to bed on the west side of Salt Lake City. A long-time community advocate and project leader, her work includes the Rose Park Community Gardens and the outdoor classrooms of Bridge to Backman Elementary.

With Halloween right around the corner, Student Journalist Preston Langlois is diving into the paranormal world with Gary Carter from the Wasatch Investigation Society for Paranormal Studies. They’ll be talking about all things supernatural, from ghost stories to real-life investigations happening right in Utah, and some spooky sounds.
