300 Plates 2024

Art Access is proud to present the 22nd year of their beloved 300 Plates fundraising event. May 9th from 6-9pm at Venue 6Six9. Every year over 200 artists from all over Utah paint original works on 10 x 11 inch boards to be auctioned for one night in May. All proceeds support Art Access's programming for artists with disabilities which include professional mentorship, exhibition opportunities, and training and advocacy for the Utah arts and culture scene. The general admission ticket price is $75. Plates will once again be sold in a wristband drawing. Guests have long enjoyed the experience of choosing a wristband when they check in and having the different wristband designs randomly selected for the opportunity to buy artwork from the over 300 plates in the show. KRCL's Music Meets Movies - Echo in the Canyon

Join KRCL as we wrap up this season of Music Meets Movies at Brewvies Cinema Pub with the 2018 documentary Echo in the Canyon.

The film is a look back at the influence and music scene of Laurel Canyon in the Mid 60s. Through never-before-heard stories from David Crosby, Brian Wilson, and Tom Petty's final onscreen interview, the film shows how these artist's creations reverberated through time, creating a  new generation of musicians. The songs from that era provide an entry point as host Jakob Dylan is joined by the likes of Beck, Norah Jones, and Fiona Appleto interpret and perform many of these classic songs in concert at L.A.'s Orpheum Theatre.

Jubilate Presents "Sine Instrumentali" - An Evening of A Cappella Choral Music

Please join us for an evening of ‘A Cappella’ (which means ‘in the style of the chapel’, but that’s another bit of trivia) music spanning over 400 years – from 1572 to 2024! You’ll hear music from composers who are long-dead (Tomas Luis de Victoria wrote “O Quam Gloriosum” – ‘Oh how glorious’ in 1572) to the still-living (Scott Larrabee and Harry Heightman are composing and arranging in 2024 – so far, anyway). Prepare to hear the sublime – “Ave Verum Corpus” (Byrd), “If Ye Love Me (Tallis), “Alleluia” (Thompson), as well as the ridiculous “My Bonny Lass She Smelleth” (P.D.Q. Bach), and several in-between (“Lida Rose” from ‘The Music Man’). Choose from two performances – or attend both! – each at 7PM but at two different venues – Friday May 10 (Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 200 South 700 East, Salt Lake City, 84102) and Saturday May 18 (St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 E. Spring Lane, Holladay). We will dress up but you can come as you are! Admission is free, no ticket required. Voluntary donations are welcome at the venue. https://jubilatechoirslc.weebly.com/
