Friday, February 20: 

  • Utah's EKO 2026 Winter Adventure Kickoff Event| 3-6 PM @ Utah Olympic Oval, 5662 Cougar Ln, Kearns. "Attendees can glide on the ice with free ice-skate rentals, try their hand at curling, shoot a hockey puck, and meet an Olympic athlete! Families are encouraged to register for the year-long adventure challenge, savor snacks and hot cocoa, and win an exciting ski buff! The first 150 participants will receive free hot cocoa."

  • | 1:00-2:00 PM @ SLCPL Day-Riverside Branch, 1575 W 1000 N, SLC. "Learn about Ramadan! This lecture series for all community members aims to spark interfaith conversations and inspire learning and understanding. Saturdays during Ramadan, Feb 21, 28, and Mar 7."

  • Lunar New Year Celebration 2026: Year of the Horse | 2:00-4:30 PM @ SLCPL's Anderson-Foothill Branch, 1135 S 2100 E, SLC. "Welcome in the Year of the Horse with an afternoon Lunar New Year celebration at the Anderson-Foothill Branch. Stop by for a special storytime, crafts and activities, and a dragon parade.

  • Rally for Recovery  | 4:00-6:00 PM @ Utah State Capitol, 350 N State St, SLC. "Please join USARA, NAMI Utah, and Utah's recovery community for our 2026 Rally for Recovery at the Utah State Capitol on Thursday, February 26! The event begins at 4:00 PM with the Walk to Remember around the building to honor lives lost to substance use. The Rally for Recovery will begin at 4:30 PM in the rotunda. Speakers include people in recovery, allies, leaders, and legislators."

  • Fernandes Scholarship Fund Lecture Series: Beyond Visibility: Economic Freedom for Trans Communities, 6:30 PM at SaltFire Brewing Co., 2199 West Temple, South Salt Lake. The Fernandes Scholarship Fund lectures are “envisioned as a space to start conversations about gender, sexuality, and race in a safe and inclusive environment. In these informal lectures, experts in their field will share their knowledge and invite the audience to engage with the topic by asking questions and presenting their perspectives.” Jacey Thornton, MSW, will explore the gender minority pay gap and why economic empowerment is essential to the gender queer communities. The event is free but RSVP is required.

  • Book Talk: The Glorians, 7 PM at the SLC Public Library, 210 E 400 S. Terry Tempest Williams in conversation with Ken Sanders about her new book, The Glorians: Visitations from the Holy Ordinary. “Terry Tempest Williams will be sitting down for a heart-to-heart with her old friend, Ken Sanders. Ken and Terry have known each other since they worked together at Sam Weller’s in the 1970s. This will be a conversation you will not wish to miss. The ticket to the event includes a signed first edition copy of The Glorians to be picked up at the event and access to the after-party at Ken Sanders Rare Books, where music and refreshments will be provided. It is important to note that Terry will not be signing anything at the event. Signed copies of The Glorians are available here for those who cannot attend.”

  • Love Cats Silent Art Auction, At The Local Artisan Collective, 2371 Kiesel Ave., Ogden. “The Love Cats Silent Art Auction is an event created to bring that hope to life. For two days, the community is invited to gather in support of Whiskers, a local nonprofit that provides safety, medical care, and second chances to cats who need it most. Local artists have donated their creations to help raise the funds that fuel this life-saving work.”

Event by Utah Transition to Organic Partnership Program (UT-TOPP) and Red Acre Center: "Learn, connect, and help shape the future of organic agriculture in Utah.
