Sundance Film Festival

The 2026 Sundance Film Festival runs January 22 through February 1, 2026 and celebrates independent storytelling both in person and online at the 42th edition of the Sundance Film Festival.

The Sundance Film Festival is the ultimate gathering of original storytellers and audiences seeking new voices and fresh perspectives. The annual program includes dramatic and documentary features, short films, and episodic content. There are also daily filmmaker conversations, panel discussions, and other events. Since 1985, hundreds of films launched at the Festival have gone on to gain critical acclaim and reach new audiences worldwide.

Big Fur Documentary at SLAMDANCE

Bigfoot, sasquatch, yeti, swamp ape, call it what you will, but World Champion taxidermist Ken Walker set out to reconstruct one based off the legendary Patterson/Gimlin bigfoot footage from 1967.  Film maker Dan Wayne was there to capture it on film. That film, BIG FUR, is currently screening at the SLAMDANCE Film Festival in Park City.

Sundance Diaries: New Frontier

New Frontier hosted a review for members of the press on day two of the festival. Eric P. Nelson and I attended the event to document the experience, but it proved to be a more challenging task than we had anticipated. Regardless, we had fun trying.
