Utah Surgical Arts will host a free Academic Advantage College & Career Fair on Saturday the 27th. Middle and high school students interested in exploring a healthcare career or looking to build their resumes will learn how to get a head start in planning for their future careers. Up to $2,000 in scholarships will be awarded. Local medical experts will kickoff the event with an interactive presentation that will give students an insider’s look at their professions and the steps they took in education and training. Following the presentation, students and their parents will have the opportunity to network with representatives from local colleges and nonprofits. Featured speakers include: David A. Park, DDS, MD – Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Utah Surgical Arts, William Francis, DO – Family Practitioner at Premier Family Medical, Chase Bazil, CRNA – Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Specialist, Nikki Carter – Dental Hygienist at Cloward Dental, Charisse Finch – Counselor at American Fork High School. Student participants can expect to learn how to navigate school successfully by learning: The best time to start preparing for college, The college admissions process, Steps for making a college application unique, The rewarding aspects of a medical or dental career, A typical daily routine of a dental/medical professional and the steps for completing the education and training required for specific healthcare professions.
