Spend the week learning how the Zoo “spices up” the lives of animals through different types of enrichment. This week-long summer camp is for children entering into 4th and 5th grade in the fall. My First Book Club #3: Freya & Zoose with Author Emily Butler

We're launching our first My First Book Club both to keep our younger guests reading through the summer and to give them their very first book club-style experience. Not necessarily designed as a classroom-style experience, the My First Book Club will be focused simply on creating a positive and fun social experience and getting young readers to talk about what they've read with their peers, focusing on their most and least favorite parts, as well as scratching the surface of their book selections to consider other messages and themes that the author might be conveying.

Participants should arrive at the August meeting having finished Freya & Zoose by Emily Butler. Although it's not necessary to have completed the book, guests should try to have read as much of it as possible to avoid the possibility of spoilers from other readers. During this, our third and final discussion of My First Book Club 2019, author Emily Butler will also be attending to discuss her book with our young guests! Our discussion will start at 2:00 p.m. and we'll have cookies or some type of snacks for our readers!
